Crimson Tide Gets Back to Work after Two-Day Break

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The returned to the practice field in full pads with a two-hour workout session Tuesday at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields. It is the first time the Crimson has hit the field since Saturday’s second scrimmage of the fall.

“We have been off for two days, and obviously this is the time you try to get your back,” head coach Nick said Tuesday. “At the same time, there is a lot of fundamental improvement that we need to make. I think the things coming out of the scrimmage that we need to improve on are mental toughness as a team, especially the younger to be able to persevere, sustain and finish plays.”

It was the 20th practice of preseason training camp on Tuesday as the Crimson moved into more of a game-week practice schedule with the season opener just 11 days away. will continue to work on aspects of various opponents before focusing in on Kent State.

“This week, the focus is on improvement and the things we need to improve on as a team,” said. “We will also look at some things that our first four opponents do that is a little bit different, and we will probably start working on on Friday.”

The Crimson will kick off the campaign on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 11:21 a.m. in Stadium. The game will be televised on the Network.
