Clemson preview: Is this Tiger team more Clemson ’16 or Clemson ’17?

MSU preview: Bulldogs could be Tide’s biggest regular-season test

Mississippi State isn’t all that likely to beat Alabama, but Tua Tagovailoa making a second consecutive fourth-quarter appearance isn’t just a possibility; we think it’s all but assured. With Auburn a bad matchup for what Alabama is capable of doing with its defensive front, the game against the Bulldogs of Starkville, Miss., may end up being Alabama’s biggest challenge of the 2018 regular season.

LSU wrap-up: Bama dominates in every way in thrashing of Tigers

Alabama came into this game with no question marks on offense. It displayed no question marks on defense in this game, either. As long as kickers aren’t involved, this looks like a team without a weakness.

LSU preview: Are Tigers that tough, or is the drama being invented?

Is this matchup for real? Is LSU capable of slowing Tagovailoa down? What is reality for the LSU offense – is it the 36 points scored against Georgia, or is it the 19 put up against Mississippi State and Florida? LSU’s best output of the season – 45 points against defense-illiterate Ole Miss – ties for Alabama’s second-lowest of the season, a win over Texas A&M that left some people wondering what was wrong with Bama football.

Missouri wrap-up: When it came time for a gut check, Tide responded

The way Alabama’s offense can score points may mean the 2018 season goes by without a truly close shave, margin-wise, but don’t for one second think Alabama’s victory over Missouri wasn’t an epic gut check.

Missouri preview: Banged-up Tide could get a test from high-flying Tigers

Although the Missouri Tigers come to Tuscaloosa riding a two-game losing streak, there is an uneasiness about this matchup that has its roots both in the history of the Alabama-Missouri series and also the high-wire act Alabama Crimson Tide has put on through the season’s first month and a half.

Arkansas wrap-up: Bama wins big, but leaves for home with lots to fix

One of the great challenges of watching the 2018 Alabama football team play is convincing people that when the offense, directed by Tua Tagovailoa, is capable of scoring points at will, there remain significant areas of concern that could affect Bama’s march back to the college football title game.

Louisiana Preview: Ragin’ Cajuns are revamping, but not yet winning

Louisiana Preview: Ragin’ Cajuns are revamping, but not yet winning

We’re going to analyze this game as we always do, but we’re not going to spend a terribly large amount of time on doing so, because it’s almost superfluous. The Ragin’ Cajuns are 1-2, with a win over Grambling in its opener, and then two disappointing losses. Mississippi State poleaxed Louisiana in Week 2, and then Coastal Carolina eeked out a 2-point win last week. A bowl bid looks unlikely. Louisiana will not win this game.

Texas A&M Preview: Aggies Are Better Under Fisher, But Not On Bama’s Level Yet

Texas A&M Preview: Aggies Are Better Under Fisher, But Not On Bama’s Level Yet

There are a lot of similarities between Texas A&M in 2018 and Alabama in 2007. Both programs were coming out of the pit of despair – which for their respective fan bases, means anything less than 10 wins a season. While the Aggie offense is much improved – which you’d figure would happen, given Fisher’s history as an offensive coordinator – the Aggie defense might not be able to slow down Alabama’s high-powered passing attack enough to pull the upset.

Ole Miss Wrap-up: Tide Rolls, Rebels Fold In Epic Beatdown

Where do you go in trying to analyze a game that finished up as a 62-7 beatdown? When the defeated opponent insists on changing mascots every couple of years and is currently promoting something called a “landshark?” When a team’s wide receiver corps refers to itself as the “NWO” while its defense is MIA?
