Previews 2017: Florida, Georgia and Kentucky

There is much disagreement over the potential future of the Kentucky Wildcats, perhaps much of it surrounding a coaching staff that still is trying to prove itself. Mark Stoops has certainly recruited well enough to win games here, and Kentucky’s position relative to its SEC East peers in regards to talent and experience within the various position units would suggest this could be the surprise team of the division. But it’s still Kentucky. And until the Wildcats actually prove it on the field, no one is giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Georgia wrap-up: Dawgs had the bark, Alabama had the bite

When you’re a Dawg, you spend a lot of time woofing. That’s what you do.

But Mark Richt’s teams seem to find a way to implode when expectations are at their highest.

2013 Fall Previews: Georgia Bulldogs

The Bulldogs finally put it all together in 2012 and came less than 5 yards away from beating Alabama and getting a shot at a national championship. For 2013, Georgia returns virtually its entire offense from 2012, but there is trouble on the defensive side of the ball, and special teams must be improved. Georgia badly wants a rematch with Alabama in the SEC Championship Game, but the Bulldogs have tended to lose focus at times during the regular season under Mark Richt’s watch. A young defense will only make that task a more difficult one for Richt and his assistants to correct.

Georgia recap: Tide wins one for the ages to set up another one for the ages

Alabama beat Georgia 32-28 in one of the most exciting, dramatic intraconference matchups in many decades. For a neutral fan, being able to watch the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs square off must have been the football equivalent of a foodie scoring a free shipping crate full of black truffles. There was nothing about this game that left anyone bored or wanting more. It couldn’t have – everything both teams had was poured out onto the field for all to see.
