Where to watch: Missouri (5-11, 0-4 SEC) at Alabama (10-6, 3-1) – Today 6 p.m., Coleman Coliseum, ESPNU
Who to watch: Donta Hall. Looking over Alabama’s consistently inconsistent season, there is an argument to be made that no player has truly put together three good games in a row. Hall has the chance to put an end to that tonight after solid contributions in a loss to Florida and a win over LSU. HIs formula for success isn’t complicated at all. Hall at his best either catches the ball on the low blocks or snags an offensive rebound and deposits ball in basket, preferably by dunking it in. But that simple formula gives him the best shooting percentage (69.8 percent) of any player in the SEC seeing regular minutes. He could be better on the glass (5.4 rebounds per game) and if and when he becomes more consistent there it will only increase his scoring chances and value to the team.
What to watch for: A lack of pity. The Crimson Tide has ruthlessly dispatched bad teams at home and hapless Mizzou is no better than the Brand X cannon fodder that visited Coleman Coliseum throughout the non-conference schedule. The Tigers have losses against North Carolina Central, Eastern Illinois and Lipscomb and could be the first team to go winless in SEC play since Georgia Tech in 1954, particularly since they’ve already lost home games to LSU and Auburn. Mizzou will play harder than LSU did over the weekend but brings even less talent to the table. If Bama can’t put these Tigers away until the closing minutes, it will be a troubling sign.
