Led by the nation’s top defensive unit, Alabama recorded its first shutout win in two seasons on Saturday night with a 34-0 victory over Vanderbilt in front of a packed Bryant-Denny Stadium. Sophomore quarterback AJ McCarron led the Crimson Tide’s offensive attack with 237 yards and four touchdowns while junior running back Trent Richardson ran for 107 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Nine Alabama players were recognized for their outstanding play by the coaching staff following the Crimson Tide’s 27-11 win at No. 20 Penn State as announced by head coach Nick Saban Monday. Center William Vlachos and tight end Michael Williams were named players of the week on offense while safety Mark Barron, cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick and linebacker C.J. Mosley represented the defense. On special teams, it was Trey Depriest and Vinnie Sunseri for the second straight week along with Dee Milliner and Alex Watkins.

Several Parking Lots To Be Closed; Details for Off-Site Parking To Be Announced Thursday
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; September 7, 2011 – Heavy rain this week combined with predictions of continued rainfall into Friday have led to the closure of several grass parking lots near Penn State’s Beaver Stadium for Saturday’s football game against Alabama. Approximately 2,500 vehicles will be redirected to offsite parking lots; free shuttles will be provided to patrons parking in these areas.
Beaver Stadium parking lots that are available will open Saturday at 8 a.m.

The scrimmage lasted more than two hours and included 50 plays of regular game scrimmaging, situational down and distance, red area, goalline, coming out and two-minute.
